Off the top of my head, any of Eric Bogosian's one-man shows (Pounding Nails in the Floor with My Forehead and Sex, Drugs, Rock & Roll are good ones), Anna Deavere Smith's Twilight: Los Angeles 1992 and Sarah Jones's Bridge & Tunnel could be good places to start.

--I was gonna mention Anna Devere Smith too--aside from Twilight, you should check out Fires in the Mirror.

--Search For Signs of Intelligent Life in the Universe by Jane Wagner
--In Real Life by Charlayne Woodard, as well as her other solo plays.
Nilaja Sun's 'No Child...' Which is actually still playing, so you could see her do it. She's completely incredible. They play's good, too.
If you get out to SF, there's also Charlie Varon. His one man show, RUSH LIMBAUGH IN NIGHT SCHOOL is probably published somewhere.
Of course if you really want to be radical, look at Richard Pryor, Live on the Sunset Strip - it's more than just stand-up.
